Our Goals are:

To expand the awareness of the Latino culture and diverse cultures to the community at large

  • We do this by hosting educational events, and encourage sisters to be outspoken.

To promote sisterhood and leadership

  • We do this by encouraging sisters to step out of comfort zone, and taking that step with them.

To stand for excellence and education amongst women

  • We do this by keeping an eye on each other’s academics, and by awarding achievement & excellence.

“In SIA I found my place. My line sister is my best friend, and I’ve made bonds with women I never would’ve met otherwise. There is no mold to a SIA woman, and because of the love I’ve found here, I’ve grown into loving myself like I never dreamed I could.”
– Hermana Aset Akai

"Sisterhood means a group of women who can call each other friend, who can grow with and for each other, and can make that same difference in the lives of others. For me, this organization is the epitome of Sisterhood.”
-Hermana Neúmatica

We encourage all women to promote a diverse cultural and social environment. We endeavor sisters to unite in these common goals; however, we highly value personal identity and individuality. Through the bonds of sisterhood, we develop leadership, scholarship, sportsmanship, and friendship. SIA welcomes women of all backgrounds as Hermanas. There is unity in our diversity.
